Why is requesting folding forbidden here?

1. Folding is not about the prizes. Folding@Home was developed to help cure diseases. If the only reason you’re folding is to get a prize, you’re not doing what Jiggmin intended.

2. Laziness is a horrible excuse. Folding is a time-consuming task. Even if you have a slow computer, keep on working. It may take me 1 or 2 weeks to complete a WU.

3. Some people will fold for you. Please use them. Sometimes, people are just nice and will fold for you because they have nothing else to do. People sometimes hold contests with prizes of WUs or F@H points. You should be aware of these people and their contests because they’re a way to get what you want, fast. Bet, of course, remember that it isn’t about the prizes.

Now, I understand that some of you cannot fold for yourself. Let us say, perhaps, that you have evil parents who don’t want you to cure diseases. Or you may have the more realistic problem of not being allowed to download or run F@H properly. In these events, you should look for those earlier-mentioned contests or just rough it and show ‘em you don’t need a crown to win when you’ve got your trusty ol’ propeller hat!
